Sura 2 Al-Baqarah (The Cow), ayah 63

  1. وَإِذْ أَخَذْنَا مِيثَاقَكُمْ وَرَفَعْنَا فَوْقَكُمُ الطُّورَ خُذُوا مَا آتَيْنَاكُمْ بِقُوَّةٍ وَاذْكُرُوا مَا فِيهِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَتَّقُونَ

    Translation by words

    وَإِذْ
    And when
    أَخَذْنَا
    We took
    مِيثَٰقَكُمْ
    your covenant
    وَرَفَعْنَا
    and We raised
    فَوْقَكُمُ
    over you
    ٱلطُّورَ
    the mount,
    خُذُوا۟
    "Hold
    مَآ
    what
    ءَاتَيْنَٰكُم
    We have given you
    بِقُوَّةٍ
    with strength,
    وَٱذْكُرُوا۟
    and remember
    مَا
    what
    فِيهِ
    (is) in it,
    لَعَلَّكُمْ
    perhaps you
    تَتَّقُونَ
    (would become) righteous."

    And (recall) when We took your covenant, (O Children of Israel, to abide by the Torah) and We raised over you the mount, (saying), "Take what We have given you with determination and remember what is in it that perhaps you may become righteous."
