Sura 33 Al-Ahzab (Those who took up arms), ayah 33
-
وَقَرْنَ فِي بُيُوتِكُنَّ وَلَا تَبَرَّجْنَ تَبَرُّجَ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ الْأُولَىٰ ۖ وَأَقِمْنَ الصَّلَاةَ وَآتِينَ الزَّكَاةَ وَأَطِعْنَ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ ۚ إِنَّمَا يُرِيدُ اللَّهُ لِيُذْهِبَ عَنْكُمُ الرِّجْسَ أَهْلَ الْبَيْتِ وَيُطَهِّرَكُمْ تَطْهِيرًا
Translation by words
- وَقَرْنَ
- And stay
- فِى
- in
- بُيُوتِكُنَّ
- your houses
- وَلَا
- and (do) not
- تَبَرَّجْنَ
- display yourselves
- تَبَرُّجَ
- (as was the) display
- ٱلْجَٰهِلِيَّةِ
- (of the times of) ignorance
- ٱلْأُولَىٰ
- the former.
- وَأَقِمْنَ
- And establish
- ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ
- the prayer
- وَءَاتِينَ
- and give
- ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ
- zakah
- وَأَطِعْنَ
- and obey
- ٱللَّهَ
- Allah
- وَرَسُولَهُۥٓ
- and His Messenger.
- إِنَّمَا
- Only
- يُرِيدُ
- Allah wishes
- ٱللَّهُ
- Allah wishes
- لِيُذْهِبَ
- to remove
- عَنكُمُ
- from you
- ٱلرِّجْسَ
- the impurity,
- أَهْلَ
- (O) People
- ٱلْبَيْتِ
- (of) the House!
- وَيُطَهِّرَكُمْ
- And to purify you
- تَطْهِيرًا
- (with thorough) purification.
And abide in your houses and do not display yourselves as (was) the display of the former times of ignorance. And establish prayer and give zakah and obey Allah and His Messenger. Allah intends only to remove from you the impurity (of sin), O people of the (Prophet's) household, and to purify you with (extensive) purification.
