Sura 33 Al-Ahzab (Those who took up arms), ayah 36
-
وَمَا كَانَ لِمُؤْمِنٍ وَلَا مُؤْمِنَةٍ إِذَا قَضَى اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَمْرًا أَنْ يَكُونَ لَهُمُ الْخِيَرَةُ مِنْ أَمْرِهِمْ ۗ وَمَنْ يَعْصِ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ فَقَدْ ضَلَّ ضَلَالًا مُبِينًا
Translation by words
- وَمَا
- And not
- كَانَ
- (it) is
- لِمُؤْمِنٍ
- for a believing man
- وَلَا
- and not
- مُؤْمِنَةٍ
- (for) a believing woman,
- إِذَا
- when
- قَضَى
- Allah has decided
- ٱللَّهُ
- Allah has decided
- وَرَسُولُهُۥٓ
- and His Messenger
- أَمْرًا
- a matter
- أَن
- that
- يَكُونَ
- (there) should be
- لَهُمُ
- for them
- ٱلْخِيَرَةُ
- (any) choice
- مِنْ
- about
- أَمْرِهِمْ
- their affair.
- وَمَن
- And whoever
- يَعْصِ
- disobeys
- ٱللَّهَ
- Allah
- وَرَسُولَهُۥ
- and His Messenger
- فَقَدْ
- certainly,
- ضَلَّ
- he (has) strayed
- ضَلَٰلًا
- (into) error
- مُّبِينًا
- clear.
It is not for a believing man or a believing woman, when Allah and His Messenger have decided a matter, that they should (thereafter) have any choice about their affair. And whoever disobeys Allah and His Messenger has certainly strayed into clear error.
33:36
