Sura 38 Sad (The letter Saad), ayah 22
-
إِذْ دَخَلُوا عَلَىٰ دَاوُودَ فَفَزِعَ مِنْهُمْ ۖ قَالُوا لَا تَخَفْ ۖ خَصْمَانِ بَغَىٰ بَعْضُنَا عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ فَاحْكُمْ بَيْنَنَا بِالْحَقِّ وَلَا تُشْطِطْ وَاهْدِنَا إِلَىٰ سَوَاءِ الصِّرَاطِ
Translation by words
- إِذْ
- When
- دَخَلُوا۟
- they entered
- عَلَىٰ
- upon
- دَاوُۥدَ
- Dawood
- فَفَزِعَ
- and he was afraid
- مِنْهُمْ
- of them,
- قَالُوا۟
- they said,
- لَا
- "(Do) not
- تَخَفْ
- fear.
- خَصْمَانِ
- (We are) two litigants,
- بَغَىٰ
- has wronged
- بَعْضُنَا
- one of us
- عَلَىٰ
- to
- بَعْضٍ
- another,
- فَٱحْكُم
- so judge
- بَيْنَنَا
- between us
- بِٱلْحَقِّ
- in truth
- وَلَا
- and (do) not
- تُشْطِطْ
- be unjust
- وَٱهْدِنَآ
- and guide us
- إِلَىٰ
- to
- سَوَآءِ
- an even
- ٱلصِّرَٰطِ
- [the] path.
When they entered upon David and he was alarmed by them? They said, "Fear not. (We are) two adversaries, one of whom has wronged the other, so judge between us with truth and do not exceed (it) and guide us to the sound path.
38:22
Translation: Saheeh International
