Sura 3 Ali 'Imran (Family of Imran), ayah 147

  1. وَمَا كَانَ قَوْلَهُمْ إِلَّا أَنْ قَالُوا رَبَّنَا اغْفِرْ لَنَا ذُنُوبَنَا وَإِسْرَافَنَا فِي أَمْرِنَا وَثَبِّتْ أَقْدَامَنَا وَانْصُرْنَا عَلَى الْقَوْمِ الْكَافِرِينَ

    Translation by words

    وَمَا
    And not
    كَانَ
    were
    قَوْلَهُمْ
    their words
    إِلَّآ
    except
    أَن
    that
    قَالُوا۟
    they said,
    رَبَّنَا
    "Our Lord
    ٱغْفِرْ
    forgive
    لَنَا
    for us
    ذُنُوبَنَا
    our sins
    وَإِسْرَافَنَا
    and our excesses
    فِىٓ
    in
    أَمْرِنَا
    our affairs
    وَثَبِّتْ
    and make firm
    أَقْدَامَنَا
    our feet
    وَٱنصُرْنَا
    and give us victory
    عَلَى
    over
    ٱلْقَوْمِ
    [the people]
    ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ
    the disbelievers."

    And their words were not but that they said, "Our Lord, forgive us our sins and the excess (committed) in our affairs and plant firmly our feet and give us victory over the disbelieving people."

    3:147
