Sura 3 Ali 'Imran (Family of Imran), ayah 146

  1. وَكَأَيِّنْ مِنْ نَبِيٍّ قَاتَلَ مَعَهُ رِبِّيُّونَ كَثِيرٌ فَمَا وَهَنُوا لِمَا أَصَابَهُمْ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ وَمَا ضَعُفُوا وَمَا اسْتَكَانُوا ۗ وَاللَّهُ يُحِبُّ الصَّابِرِينَ

    Translation by words

    وَكَأَيِّن
    And how many
    مِّن
    from
    نَّبِىٍّ
    a Prophet
    قَٰتَلَ
    fought;
    مَعَهُۥ
    with him
    رِبِّيُّونَ
    (were) religious scholars
    كَثِيرٌ
    many.
    فَمَا
    But not
    وَهَنُوا۟
    they lost heart
    لِمَآ
    for what
    أَصَابَهُمْ
    befell them
    فِى
    in
    سَبِيلِ
    (the) way
    ٱللَّهِ
    (of) Allah
    وَمَا
    and not
    ضَعُفُوا۟
    they weakened
    وَمَا
    and not
    ٱسْتَكَانُوا۟
    they gave in.
    وَٱللَّهُ
    And Allah
    يُحِبُّ
    loves
    ٱلصَّٰبِرِينَ
    the patient ones.

    And how many a prophet (fought and) with him fought many religious scholars. But they never lost assurance due to what afflicted them in the cause of Allah, nor did they weaken or submit. And Allah loves the steadfast.
