Sura 3 Ali 'Imran (Family of Imran), ayah 71

  1. يَا أَهْلَ الْكِتَابِ لِمَ تَلْبِسُونَ الْحَقَّ بِالْبَاطِلِ وَتَكْتُمُونَ الْحَقَّ وَأَنْتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ

    Translation by words

    يَٰٓأَهْلَ
    O People
    ٱلْكِتَٰبِ
    (of) the Book!
    لِمَ
    Why
    تَلْبِسُونَ
    do you mix
    ٱلْحَقَّ
    the truth
    بِٱلْبَٰطِلِ
    with the falsehood
    وَتَكْتُمُونَ
    and conceal
    ٱلْحَقَّ
    the truth
    وَأَنتُمْ
    while you
    تَعْلَمُونَ
    know?

    O People of the Scripture, why do you confuse the truth with falsehood and conceal the truth while you know (it)?
