Sura 42 Ash-Shura (The Consultation), ayah 9

  1. أَمِ اتَّخَذُوا مِنْ دُونِهِ أَوْلِيَاءَ ۖ فَاللَّهُ هُوَ الْوَلِيُّ وَهُوَ يُحْيِي الْمَوْتَىٰ وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ

    Translation by words

    أَمِ
    Or
    ٱتَّخَذُوا۟
    have they taken
    مِن
    besides Him
    دُونِهِۦٓ
    besides Him
    أَوْلِيَآءَ
    protectors?
    فَٱللَّهُ
    But Allah -
    هُوَ
    He
    ٱلْوَلِىُّ
    (is) the Protector,
    وَهُوَ
    and He
    يُحْىِ
    gives life
    ٱلْمَوْتَىٰ
    (to) the dead.
    وَهُوَ
    And He
    عَلَىٰ
    (is) on
    كُلِّ
    every
    شَىْءٍ
    thing
    قَدِيرٌ
    All-Powerful.

    Or have they taken protectors (or allies) besides him? But Allah - He is the Protector, and He gives life to the dead, and He is over all things competent.

    42:9
