Sura 43 Az-Zukhruf (The Ornaments of gold), ayah 56

1. فَجَعَلْنَاهُمْ سَلَفًا وَمَثَلًا لِلْآخِرِينَ

   Translation by words

   فَجَعَلْنَٰهُمْ

   And We made them

   سَلَفًا

   a precedent

   وَمَثَلًا

   and an example

   لِّلْءَاخِرِينَ

   for the later (generations).

   And We made them a precedent and an example for the later peoples.

Translation: Saheeh International
