Sura 43 Az-Zukhruf (The Ornaments of gold), ayah 59

1. إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا عَبْدٌ أَنْعَمْنَا عَلَيْهِ وَجَعَلْنَاهُ مَثَلًا لِبَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ

   Translation by words

   إِنْ

   Not

   هُوَ

   he

   إِلَّا

   (was) except

   عَبْدٌ

   a slave,

   أَنْعَمْنَا

   We bestowed Our favor

   عَلَيْهِ

   on him

   وَجَعَلْنَٰهُ

   and We made him

   مَثَلًا

   an example

   لِّبَنِىٓ

   for (the) Children of Israel.

   إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ

   for (the) Children of Israel.

   Jesus was not but a servant upon whom We bestowed favor, and We made him an example for the Children of Israel.
