Sura 46 Al-Ahqaf (The Wind - Curved Sandhills), ayah 20
-
وَيَوْمَ يُعْرَضُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا عَلَى النَّارِ أَذْهَبْتُمْ طَيِّبَاتِكُمْ فِي حَيَاتِكُمُ الدُّنْيَا وَاسْتَمْتَعْتُمْ بِهَا فَالْيَوْمَ تُجْزَوْنَ عَذَابَ الْهُونِ بِمَا كُنْتُمْ تَسْتَكْبِرُونَ فِي الْأَرْضِ بِغَيْرِ الْحَقِّ وَبِمَا كُنْتُمْ تَفْسُقُونَ
Translation by words
- وَيَوْمَ
- And (the) Day
- يُعْرَضُ
- will be exposed
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- those who
- كَفَرُوا۟
- disbelieved
- عَلَى
- to
- ٱلنَّارِ
- the Fire.
- أَذْهَبْتُمْ
- "You exhausted
- طَيِّبَٰتِكُمْ
- your good things
- فِى
- in
- حَيَاتِكُمُ
- your life
- ٱلدُّنْيَا
- (of) the world,
- وَٱسْتَمْتَعْتُم
- and you took your pleasures
- بِهَا
- therein.
- فَٱلْيَوْمَ
- So today
- تُجْزَوْنَ
- you will be recompensed
- عَذَابَ
- (with) a punishment
- ٱلْهُونِ
- humiliating
- بِمَا
- because
- كُنتُمْ
- you were
- تَسْتَكْبِرُونَ
- arrogant
- فِى
- in
- ٱلْأَرْضِ
- the earth
- بِغَيْرِ
- without
- ٱلْحَقِّ
- [the] right
- وَبِمَا
- and because
- كُنتُمْ
- you were
- تَفْسُقُونَ
- defiantly disobedient."
And the Day those who disbelieved are exposed to the Fire (it will be said), "You exhausted your pleasures during your worldly life and enjoyed them, so this Day you will be awarded the punishment of (extreme) humiliation because you were arrogant upon the earth without right and because you were defiantly disobedient."
46:20
