Sura 49 Al-Hujurat (The Inner Apartments), ayah 3

  1. إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَغُضُّونَ أَصْوَاتَهُمْ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ أُولَٰئِكَ الَّذِينَ امْتَحَنَ اللَّهُ قُلُوبَهُمْ لِلتَّقْوَىٰ ۚ لَهُمْ مَغْفِرَةٌ وَأَجْرٌ عَظِيمٌ

    Translation by words

    إِنَّ
    Indeed,
    ٱلَّذِينَ
    those who
    يَغُضُّونَ
    lower
    أَصْوَٰتَهُمْ
    their voices
    عِندَ
    (in) presence
    رَسُولِ
    (of the) Messenger of Allah -
    ٱللَّهِ
    (of the) Messenger of Allah -
    أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ
    those,
    ٱلَّذِينَ
    (are) the ones
    ٱمْتَحَنَ
    Allah has tested
    ٱللَّهُ
    Allah has tested
    قُلُوبَهُمْ
    their hearts
    لِلتَّقْوَىٰ
    for righteousness.
    لَهُم
    For them
    مَّغْفِرَةٌ
    (is) forgiveness
    وَأَجْرٌ
    and a reward
    عَظِيمٌ
    great.

    Indeed, those who lower their voices before the Messenger of Allah - they are the ones whose hearts Allah has tested for righteousness. For them is forgiveness and great reward.

    49:3
