Sura 59 Al-Hashr (The Exile), ayah 2
-
هُوَ الَّذِي أَخْرَجَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا مِنْ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ مِنْ دِيَارِهِمْ لِأَوَّلِ الْحَشْرِ ۚ مَا ظَنَنْتُمْ أَنْ يَخْرُجُوا ۖ وَظَنُّوا أَنَّهُمْ مَانِعَتُهُمْ حُصُونُهُمْ مِنَ اللَّهِ فَأَتَاهُمُ اللَّهُ مِنْ حَيْثُ لَمْ يَحْتَسِبُوا ۖ وَقَذَفَ فِي قُلُوبِهِمُ الرُّعْبَ ۚ يُخْرِبُونَ بُيُوتَهُمْ بِأَيْدِيهِمْ وَأَيْدِي الْمُؤْمِنِينَ فَاعْتَبِرُوا يَا أُولِي الْأَبْصَارِ
Translation by words
- هُوَ
- He
- ٱلَّذِىٓ
- (is) the One Who
- أَخْرَجَ
- expelled
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- those who
- كَفَرُوا۟
- disbelieved
- مِنْ
- from
- أَهْلِ
- (the) People
- ٱلْكِتَٰبِ
- (of) the Scripture
- مِن
- from
- دِيَٰرِهِمْ
- their homes
- لِأَوَّلِ
- at (the) first
- ٱلْحَشْرِ
- gathering.
- مَا
- Not
- ظَنَنتُمْ
- you think
- أَن
- that
- يَخْرُجُوا۟
- they would leave,
- وَظَنُّوٓا۟
- and they thought
- أَنَّهُم
- that [they]
- مَّانِعَتُهُمْ
- would defend them
- حُصُونُهُم
- their fortresses
- مِّنَ
- against
- ٱللَّهِ
- Allah.
- فَأَتَىٰهُمُ
- But came to them
- ٱللَّهُ
- Allah
- مِنْ
- from
- حَيْثُ
- where
- لَمْ
- not
- يَحْتَسِبُوا۟
- they expected,
- وَقَذَفَ
- and He cast
- فِى
- into
- قُلُوبِهِمُ
- their hearts
- ٱلرُّعْبَ
- [the] terror,
- يُخْرِبُونَ
- they destroyed
- بُيُوتَهُم
- their houses
- بِأَيْدِيهِمْ
- with their hands
- وَأَيْدِى
- and the hands
- ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
- (of) the believers.
- فَٱعْتَبِرُوا۟
- So take a lesson,
- يَٰٓأُو۟لِى
- O those endowed
- ٱلْأَبْصَٰرِ
- (with) insight!
It is He who expelled the ones who disbelieved among the People of the Scripture from their homes at the first gathering. You did not think they would leave, and they thought that their fortresses would protect them from Allah; but (the decree of) Allah came upon them from where they had not expected, and He cast terror into their hearts (so) they destroyed their houses by their (own) hands and the hands of the believers. So take warning, O people of vision.
59:2
