Sura 68 Al-Qalam (The Pen), ayah 48

  1. فَاصْبِرْ لِحُكْمِ رَبِّكَ وَلَا تَكُنْ كَصَاحِبِ الْحُوتِ إِذْ نَادَىٰ وَهُوَ مَكْظُومٌ

    Translation by words

    فَٱصْبِرْ
    So be patient
    لِحُكْمِ
    for (the) decision
    رَبِّكَ
    (of) your Lord,
    وَلَا
    and (do) not
    تَكُن
    be
    كَصَاحِبِ
    like (the) companion
    ٱلْحُوتِ
    (of) the fish,
    إِذْ
    when
    نَادَىٰ
    he called out,
    وَهُوَ
    while he
    مَكْظُومٌ
    (was) distressed.

    Then be patient for the decision of your Lord, (O Muhammad), and be not like the companion of the fish when he called out while he was distressed.

    68:48
