Sura 6 Al-An'am (The Cattle), ayah 23

  1. ثُمَّ لَمْ تَكُنْ فِتْنَتُهُمْ إِلَّا أَنْ قَالُوا وَاللَّهِ رَبِّنَا مَا كُنَّا مُشْرِكِينَ

    Translation by words

    ثُمَّ
    Then
    لَمْ
    not
    تَكُن
    will be
    فِتْنَتُهُمْ
    (for) them a plea
    إِلَّآ
    except
    أَن
    that
    قَالُوا۟
    they say,
    وَٱللَّهِ
    "By Allah,
    رَبِّنَا
    our Lord,
    مَا
    not
    كُنَّا
    we were
    مُشْرِكِينَ
    those who associated others (with Allah)."

    Then there will be no (excuse upon) examination except they will say, "By Allah, our Lord, we were not those who associated."
