Sura 7 Al-A'raf (The Heights), ayah 130

  1. وَلَقَدْ أَخَذْنَا آلَ فِرْعَوْنَ بِالسِّنِينَ وَنَقْصٍ مِنَ الثَّمَرَاتِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَذَّكَّرُونَ

    Translation by words

    وَلَقَدْ
    And certainly,
    أَخَذْنَآ
    We seized
    ءَالَ
    (the) people
    فِرْعَوْنَ
    (of) Firaun
    بِٱلسِّنِينَ
    with years (of famine)
    وَنَقْصٍ
    and a deficit
    مِّنَ
    of
    ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ
    [the] fruits,
    لَعَلَّهُمْ
    so that they may
    يَذَّكَّرُونَ
    receive admonition.

    And We certainly seized the people of Pharaoh with years of famine and a deficiency in fruits that perhaps they would be reminded.
