Sura 7 Al-A'raf (The Heights), ayah 149
-
وَلَمَّا سُقِطَ فِي أَيْدِيهِمْ وَرَأَوْا أَنَّهُمْ قَدْ ضَلُّوا قَالُوا لَئِنْ لَمْ يَرْحَمْنَا رَبُّنَا وَيَغْفِرْ لَنَا لَنَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الْخَاسِرِينَ
Translation by words
- وَلَمَّا
- And when
- سُقِطَ
- (it was made to) fall
- فِىٓ
- into
- أَيْدِيهِمْ
- their hands
- وَرَأَوْا۟
- and they saw
- أَنَّهُمْ
- that they
- قَدْ
- (had) indeed
- ضَلُّوا۟
- gone astray,
- قَالُوا۟
- they said,
- لَئِن
- "If
- لَّمْ
- not
- يَرْحَمْنَا
- has Mercy on us,
- رَبُّنَا
- Our Lord,
- وَيَغْفِرْ
- and forgive
- لَنَا
- [for] us,
- لَنَكُونَنَّ
- we will surely be
- مِنَ
- among
- ٱلْخَٰسِرِينَ
- the losers."
And when regret overcame them and they saw that they had gone astray, they said, "If our Lord does not have mercy upon us and forgive us, we will surely be among the losers."
7:149
