Sura 9 At-Tawbah (The Repentance), ayah 48
-
لَقَدِ ابْتَغَوُا الْفِتْنَةَ مِنْ قَبْلُ وَقَلَّبُوا لَكَ الْأُمُورَ حَتَّىٰ جَاءَ الْحَقُّ وَظَهَرَ أَمْرُ اللَّهِ وَهُمْ كَارِهُونَ
Translation by words
- لَقَدِ
- Verily,
- ٱبْتَغَوُا۟
- they had sought
- ٱلْفِتْنَةَ
- dissension
- مِن
- before
- قَبْلُ
- before
- وَقَلَّبُوا۟
- and had upset
- لَكَ
- for you
- ٱلْأُمُورَ
- the matters
- حَتَّىٰ
- until
- جَآءَ
- came
- ٱلْحَقُّ
- the truth
- وَظَهَرَ
- and became manifest
- أَمْرُ
- (the) Order of Allah,
- ٱللَّهِ
- (the) Order of Allah,
- وَهُمْ
- while they
- كَٰرِهُونَ
- disliked (it).
They had already desired dissension before and had upset matters for you until the truth came and the ordinance of Allah appeared, while they were averse.
