Sura 9 At-Tawbah (The Repentance), ayah 52
-
قُلْ هَلْ تَرَبَّصُونَ بِنَا إِلَّا إِحْدَى الْحُسْنَيَيْنِ ۖ وَنَحْنُ نَتَرَبَّصُ بِكُمْ أَنْ يُصِيبَكُمُ اللَّهُ بِعَذَابٍ مِنْ عِنْدِهِ أَوْ بِأَيْدِينَا ۖ فَتَرَبَّصُوا إِنَّا مَعَكُمْ مُتَرَبِّصُونَ
Translation by words

- Say,
- هَلْ
- "Do
- تَرَبَّصُونَ
- you await
- بِنَآ
- for us
- إِلَّآ
- except
- إِحْدَى
- one
- ٱلْحُسْنَيَيْنِ
- (of) the two best (things)
- وَنَحْنُ
- while we
- نَتَرَبَّصُ
- [we] await
- بِكُمْ
- for you
- أَن
- that
- يُصِيبَكُمُ
- Allah will afflict you
- ٱللَّهُ
- Allah will afflict you
- بِعَذَابٍ
- with a punishment
- مِّنْ
- from
- عِندِهِۦٓ
- [near] Him,
- أَوْ
- or
- بِأَيْدِينَا
- by our hands?
- فَتَرَبَّصُوٓا۟
- So wait,
- إِنَّا
- indeed, we
- مَعَكُم
- with you
- مُّتَرَبِّصُونَ
- (are) waiting."
Say, "Do you await for us except one of the two best things while we await for you that Allah will afflict you with punishment from Himself or at our hands? So wait; indeed we, along with you, are waiting."
