Sura 17 Al-Isra (The Night Journey), ayah 54

  1. رَبُّكُمْ أَعْلَمُ بِكُمْ ۖ إِنْ يَشَأْ يَرْحَمْكُمْ أَوْ إِنْ يَشَأْ يُعَذِّبْكُمْ ۚ وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَاكَ عَلَيْهِمْ وَكِيلًا

    Translation by words

    رَّبُّكُمْ
    Your Lord
    أَعْلَمُ
    (is) most knowing
    بِكُمْ
    of you.
    إِن
    If
    يَشَأْ
    He wills,
    يَرْحَمْكُمْ
    He will have mercy on you;
    أَوْ
    or
    إِن
    if
    يَشَأْ
    He wills
    يُعَذِّبْكُمْ
    He will punish you.
    وَمَآ
    And not
    أَرْسَلْنَٰكَ
    We have sent you
    عَلَيْهِمْ
    over them
    وَكِيلًا
    (as) a guardian.

    Your Lord is most knowing of you. If He wills, He will have mercy upon you; or if He wills, He will punish you. And We have not sent you, (O Muhammad), over them as a manager.
