Sura 17 Al-Isra (The Night Journey), ayah 56

  1. قُلِ ادْعُوا الَّذِينَ زَعَمْتُمْ مِنْ دُونِهِ فَلَا يَمْلِكُونَ كَشْفَ الضُّرِّ عَنْكُمْ وَلَا تَحْوِيلًا

    Translation by words

    قُلِ
    Say,
    ٱدْعُوا۟
    "Call
    ٱلَّذِينَ
    those whom
    زَعَمْتُم
    you claimed
    مِّن
    besides Him,
    دُونِهِۦ
    besides Him,
    فَلَا
    [then] not
    يَمْلِكُونَ
    they have power
    كَشْفَ
    (to) remove
    ٱلضُّرِّ
    the misfortunes
    عَنكُمْ
    from you
    وَلَا
    and not
    تَحْوِيلًا
    (to) transfer (it)."

    Say, "Invoke those you have claimed (as gods) besides Him, for they do not possess the (ability for) removal of adversity from you or (for its) transfer (to someone else)."
