Sura 18 Al-Kahf (The Cave), ayah 79

أَمَّا السَّفِينَةُ فَكَانَتْ لِمَسَاكِينَ يَعْمَلُونَ فِي الْبَحْرِ فَأَرَدْتُ أَنْ أَعِيبَهَا وَكَانَ وَرَاءَهُمْ مَلِكٌ يَأْخُذُ كُلَّ سَفِينَةٍ غَصْبًا
Translation by words
- أَمَّا
- As for
- ٱلسَّفِينَةُ
- the ship,
- فَكَانَتْ
- it was
- لِمَسَٰكِينَ
- of (the) poor people
- يَعْمَلُونَ
- working
- فِى
- in
- ٱلْبَحْرِ
- the sea.
- فَأَرَدتُّ
- So I intended
- أَنْ
- that
- أَعِيبَهَا
- I cause defect (in) it
- وَكَانَ
- (as there) was
- وَرَآءَهُم
- after them
- مَّلِكٌ
- a king
- يَأْخُذُ
- who seized
- كُلَّ
- every
- سَفِينَةٍ
- ship
- غَصْبًا
- (by) force.
As for the ship, it belonged to poor people working at sea. So I intended to cause defect in it as there was after them a king who seized every (good) ship by force.
