Sura 21 Al-Anbiya (The Prophets), ayah 5

  1. بَلْ قَالُوا أَضْغَاثُ أَحْلَامٍ بَلِ افْتَرَاهُ بَلْ هُوَ شَاعِرٌ فَلْيَأْتِنَا بِآيَةٍ كَمَا أُرْسِلَ الْأَوَّلُونَ

    Translation by words

    بَلْ
    Nay,
    قَالُوٓا۟
    they say,
    أَضْغَٰثُ
    "Muddled
    أَحْلَٰمٍۭ
    dreams;
    بَلِ
    nay,
    ٱفْتَرَىٰهُ
    he (has) invented it;
    بَلْ
    nay,
    هُوَ
    he
    شَاعِرٌ
    (is) a poet.
    فَلْيَأْتِنَا
    So let him bring us
    بِـَٔايَةٍ
    a sign
    كَمَآ
    like what
    أُرْسِلَ
    was sent
    ٱلْأَوَّلُونَ
    (to) the former."

    But they say, "(The revelation is but) a mixture of false dreams; rather, he has invented it; rather, he is a poet. So let him bring us a sign just as the previous (messengers) were sent (with miracles)."
