Sura 21 Al-Anbiya (The Prophets), ayah 90

  1. فَاسْتَجَبْنَا لَهُ وَوَهَبْنَا لَهُ يَحْيَىٰ وَأَصْلَحْنَا لَهُ زَوْجَهُ ۚ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا يُسَارِعُونَ فِي الْخَيْرَاتِ وَيَدْعُونَنَا رَغَبًا وَرَهَبًا ۖ وَكَانُوا لَنَا خَاشِعِينَ

    Translation by words

    فَٱسْتَجَبْنَا
    So We responded
    لَهُۥ
    to him,
    وَوَهَبْنَا
    and We bestowed
    لَهُۥ
    on him
    يَحْيَىٰ
    Yahya,
    وَأَصْلَحْنَا
    and We cured
    لَهُۥ
    for him
    زَوْجَهُۥٓ
    his wife.
    إِنَّهُمْ
    Indeed, they
    كَانُوا۟
    used (to)
    يُسَٰرِعُونَ
    hasten
    فِى
    in
    ٱلْخَيْرَٰتِ
    good deeds,
    وَيَدْعُونَنَا
    and they supplicate to Us
    رَغَبًا
    (in) hope
    وَرَهَبًا
    and fear,
    وَكَانُوا۟
    and they were
    لَنَا
    to Us
    خَٰشِعِينَ
    humbly submissive.

    So We responded to him, and We gave to him John, and amended for him his wife. Indeed, they used to hasten to good deeds and supplicate Us in hope and fear, and they were to Us humbly submissive.
