Sura 25 Al-Furqan (The Criterion), ayah 20

  1. وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَا قَبْلَكَ مِنَ الْمُرْسَلِينَ إِلَّا إِنَّهُمْ لَيَأْكُلُونَ الطَّعَامَ وَيَمْشُونَ فِي الْأَسْوَاقِ ۗ وَجَعَلْنَا بَعْضَكُمْ لِبَعْضٍ فِتْنَةً أَتَصْبِرُونَ ۗ وَكَانَ رَبُّكَ بَصِيرًا

    Translation by words

    وَمَآ
    And not
    أَرْسَلْنَا
    We sent
    قَبْلَكَ
    before you
    مِنَ
    any
    ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
    Messengers
    إِلَّآ
    but
    إِنَّهُمْ
    indeed, they
    لَيَأْكُلُونَ
    [surely] ate
    ٱلطَّعَامَ
    food
    وَيَمْشُونَ
    and walked
    فِى
    in
    ٱلْأَسْوَاقِ
    the markets.
    وَجَعَلْنَا
    And We have made
    بَعْضَكُمْ
    some of you
    لِبَعْضٍ
    for others
    فِتْنَةً
    a trial,
    أَتَصْبِرُونَ
    will you have patience?
    وَكَانَ
    And is
    رَبُّكَ
    your Lord
    بَصِيرًا
    All-Seer.

    And We did not send before you, (O Muhammad), any of the messengers except that they ate food and walked in the markets. And We have made some of you (people) as trial for others - will you have patience? And ever is your Lord, Seeing.
