Sura 28 Al-Qasas (The Stories), ayah 29

  1. فَلَمَّا قَضَىٰ مُوسَى الْأَجَلَ وَسَارَ بِأَهْلِهِ آنَسَ مِنْ جَانِبِ الطُّورِ نَارًا قَالَ لِأَهْلِهِ امْكُثُوا إِنِّي آنَسْتُ نَارًا لَعَلِّي آتِيكُمْ مِنْهَا بِخَبَرٍ أَوْ جَذْوَةٍ مِنَ النَّارِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَصْطَلُونَ

    Translation by words

    فَلَمَّا
    Then when
    قَضَىٰ
    Musa fulfilled
    مُوسَى
    Musa fulfilled
    ٱلْأَجَلَ
    the term
    وَسَارَ
    and was traveling
    بِأَهْلِهِۦٓ
    with his family,
    ءَانَسَ
    he saw
    مِن
    in
    جَانِبِ
    (the) direction
    ٱلطُّورِ
    (of) Mount Tur
    نَارًا
    a fire.
    قَالَ
    He said
    لِأَهْلِهِ
    to his family,
    ٱمْكُثُوٓا۟
    "Stay here;
    إِنِّىٓ
    indeed, I
    ءَانَسْتُ
    [I] perceive
    نَارًا
    a fire.
    لَّعَلِّىٓ
    Perhaps
    ءَاتِيكُم
    I will bring you
    مِّنْهَا
    from there
    بِخَبَرٍ
    some information
    أَوْ
    or
    جَذْوَةٍ
    a burning wood
    مِّنَ
    from
    ٱلنَّارِ
    the fire
    لَعَلَّكُمْ
    so that you may
    تَصْطَلُونَ
    warm yourselves."

    And when Moses had completed the term and was traveling with his family, he perceived from the direction of the mount a fire. He said to his family, "Stay here; indeed, I have perceived a fire. Perhaps I will bring you from there (some) information or burning wood from the fire that you may warm yourselves."
