Sura 2 Al-Baqarah (The Cow), ayah 60

  1. وَإِذِ اسْتَسْقَىٰ مُوسَىٰ لِقَوْمِهِ فَقُلْنَا اضْرِبْ بِعَصَاكَ الْحَجَرَ ۖ فَانْفَجَرَتْ مِنْهُ اثْنَتَا عَشْرَةَ عَيْنًا ۖ قَدْ عَلِمَ كُلُّ أُنَاسٍ مَشْرَبَهُمْ ۖ كُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا مِنْ رِزْقِ اللَّهِ وَلَا تَعْثَوْا فِي الْأَرْضِ مُفْسِدِينَ

    Translation by words

    وَإِذِ
    And when
    ٱسْتَسْقَىٰ
    asked (for) water
    مُوسَىٰ
    Musa
    لِقَوْمِهِۦ
    for his people,
    فَقُلْنَا
    [so] We said,
    ٱضْرِب
    "Strike
    بِّعَصَاكَ
    with your staff
    ٱلْحَجَرَ
    the stone."
    فَٱنفَجَرَتْ
    Then gushed forth
    مِنْهُ
    from it
    ٱثْنَتَا
    (of)
    عَشْرَةَ
    twelve
    عَيْنًا
    springs.
    قَدْ
    Indeed
    عَلِمَ
    knew
    كُلُّ
    all
    أُنَاسٍ
    (the) people
    مَّشْرَبَهُمْ
    their drinking place.
    كُلُوا۟
    "Eat
    وَٱشْرَبُوا۟
    and drink
    مِن
    from
    رِّزْقِ
    (the) provision (of)
    ٱللَّهِ
    Allah,
    وَلَا
    and (do) not
    تَعْثَوْا۟
    act wickedly
    فِى
    in
    ٱلْأَرْضِ
    the earth
    مُفْسِدِينَ
    spreading corruption."

    And (recall) when Moses prayed for water for his people, so We said, "Strike with your staff the stone." And there gushed forth from it twelve springs, and every people knew its watering place. "Eat and drink from the provision of Allah, and do not commit abuse on the earth, spreading corruption."
