Sura 4 An-Nisa (The Women), ayah 155

  1. فَبِمَا نَقْضِهِمْ مِيثَاقَهُمْ وَكُفْرِهِمْ بِآيَاتِ اللَّهِ وَقَتْلِهِمُ الْأَنْبِيَاءَ بِغَيْرِ حَقٍّ وَقَوْلِهِمْ قُلُوبُنَا غُلْفٌ ۚ بَلْ طَبَعَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهَا بِكُفْرِهِمْ فَلَا يُؤْمِنُونَ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا

    Translation by words

    فَبِمَا
    Then because of
    نَقْضِهِم
    their breaking
    مِّيثَٰقَهُمْ
    (of) their covenant
    وَكُفْرِهِم
    and their disbelief
    بِـَٔايَٰتِ
    in (the) Signs
    ٱللَّهِ
    (of) Allah
    وَقَتْلِهِمُ
    and their killing
    ٱلْأَنۢبِيَآءَ
    (of) the Prophets
    بِغَيْرِ
    without
    حَقٍّ
    any right
    وَقَوْلِهِمْ
    and their saying,
    قُلُوبُنَا
    "Our hearts
    غُلْفٌۢ
    (are) wrapped."
    بَلْ
    Nay,
    طَبَعَ
    (has) set a seal
    ٱللَّهُ
    Allah
    عَلَيْهَا
    on their (hearts)
    بِكُفْرِهِمْ
    for their disbelief
    فَلَا
    so not
    يُؤْمِنُونَ
    they believe
    إِلَّا
    except
    قَلِيلًا
    a few.

    And (We cursed them) for their breaking of the covenant and their disbelief in the signs of Allah and their killing of the prophets without right and their saying, "Our hearts are wrapped". Rather, Allah has sealed them because of their disbelief, so they believe not, except for a few.
