Sura 4 An-Nisa (The Women), ayah 21

1. وَكَيْفَ تَأْخُذُونَهُ وَقَدْ أَفْضَىٰ بَعْضُكُمْ إِلَىٰ بَعْضٍ وَأَخَذْنَ مِنْكُمْ مِيثَاقًا غَلِيظًا

   Translation by words

   وَكَيْفَ

   And how

   تَأْخُذُونَهُۥ

   could you take it

   وَقَدْ

   when surely

   أَفْضَىٰ

   has gone -

   بَعْضُكُمْ

   one of you

   إِلَىٰ

   to

   بَعْضٍ

   another,

   وَأَخَذْنَ

   and they have taken

   مِنكُم

   from you

   مِّيثَٰقًا

   covenant

   غَلِيظًا

   strong?

   And how could you take it while you have gone in unto each other and they have taken from you a solemn covenant?
