Sura 59 Al-Hashr (The Exile), ayah 9
-
وَالَّذِينَ تَبَوَّءُوا الدَّارَ وَالْإِيمَانَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ يُحِبُّونَ مَنْ هَاجَرَ إِلَيْهِمْ وَلَا يَجِدُونَ فِي صُدُورِهِمْ حَاجَةً مِمَّا أُوتُوا وَيُؤْثِرُونَ عَلَىٰ أَنْفُسِهِمْ وَلَوْ كَانَ بِهِمْ خَصَاصَةٌ ۚ وَمَنْ يُوقَ شُحَّ نَفْسِهِ فَأُولَٰئِكَ هُمُ الْمُفْلِحُونَ
Translation by words
- وَٱلَّذِينَ
- And those who
- تَبَوَّءُو
- settled
- ٱلدَّارَ
- (in) the home
- وَٱلْإِيمَٰنَ
- and (accepted) faith
- مِن
- from
- قَبْلِهِمْ
- before them
- يُحِبُّونَ
- love
- مَنْ
- (those) who
- هَاجَرَ
- emigrated
- إِلَيْهِمْ
- to them,
- وَلَا
- and not
- يَجِدُونَ
- they find
- فِى
- in
- صُدُورِهِمْ
- their breasts
- حَاجَةً
- any want
- مِّمَّآ
- of what
- أُوتُوا۟
- they were given
- وَيُؤْثِرُونَ
- but prefer
- عَلَىٰٓ
- over
- أَنفُسِهِمْ
- themselves,
- وَلَوْ
- even though
- كَانَ
- was
- بِهِمْ
- with them
- خَصَاصَةٌ
- poverty.
- وَمَن
- And whoever
- يُوقَ
- is saved
- شُحَّ
- (from) stinginess
- نَفْسِهِۦ
- (of) his soul,
- فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ
- then those
- هُمُ
- [they]
- ٱلْمُفْلِحُونَ
- (are) the successful ones.
And (also for) those who were settled in al-Madinah and (adopted) the faith before them. They love those who emigrated to them and find not any want in their breasts of what the emigrants were given but give (them) preference over themselves, even though they are in privation. And whoever is protected from the stinginess of his soul - it is those who will be the successful.
59:9
