Sura 5 Al-Ma'idah (The Table Spread), ayah 59
-
قُلْ يَا أَهْلَ الْكِتَابِ هَلْ تَنْقِمُونَ مِنَّا إِلَّا أَنْ آمَنَّا بِاللَّهِ وَمَا أُنْزِلَ إِلَيْنَا وَمَا أُنْزِلَ مِنْ قَبْلُ وَأَنَّ أَكْثَرَكُمْ فَاسِقُونَ
Translation by words
- قُلْ
- Say,
- يَٰٓأَهْلَ
- "O People
- ٱلْكِتَٰبِ
- (of) the Book!
- هَلْ
- Do
- تَنقِمُونَ
- you resent
- مِنَّآ
- [of] us
- إِلَّآ
- except
- أَنْ
- that
- ءَامَنَّا
- we believe
- بِٱللَّهِ
- in Allah
- وَمَآ
- and what
- أُنزِلَ
- has been revealed
- إِلَيْنَا
- to us
- وَمَآ
- and what
- أُنزِلَ
- was revealed
- مِن
- from
- قَبْلُ
- before,
- وَأَنَّ
- and that
- أَكْثَرَكُمْ
- most of you
- فَٰسِقُونَ
- (are) defiantly disobedient."
Say, "O People of the Scripture, do you resent us except (for the fact) that we have believed in Allah and what was revealed to us and what was revealed before and because most of you are defiantly disobedient?"
