Sura 5 Al-Ma'idah (The Table Spread), ayah 62

  1. وَتَرَىٰ كَثِيرًا مِنْهُمْ يُسَارِعُونَ فِي الْإِثْمِ وَالْعُدْوَانِ وَأَكْلِهِمُ السُّحْتَ ۚ لَبِئْسَ مَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ

    Translation by words

    وَتَرَىٰ
    And you see
    كَثِيرًا
    many
    مِّنْهُمْ
    of them
    يُسَٰرِعُونَ
    hastening
    فِى
    into
    ٱلْإِثْمِ
    [the] sin
    وَٱلْعُدْوَٰنِ
    and [the] transgression
    وَأَكْلِهِمُ
    and eating
    ٱلسُّحْتَ
    the forbidden.
    لَبِئْسَ
    Surely evil
    مَا
    (is) what
    كَانُوا۟
    they were
    يَعْمَلُونَ
    doing.

    And you see many of them hastening into sin and aggression and the devouring of (what is) unlawful. How wretched is what they have been doing.
