Sura 5 Al-Ma'idah (The Table Spread), ayah 75
-
مَا الْمَسِيحُ ابْنُ مَرْيَمَ إِلَّا رَسُولٌ قَدْ خَلَتْ مِنْ قَبْلِهِ الرُّسُلُ وَأُمُّهُ صِدِّيقَةٌ ۖ كَانَا يَأْكُلَانِ الطَّعَامَ ۗ انْظُرْ كَيْفَ نُبَيِّنُ لَهُمُ الْآيَاتِ ثُمَّ انْظُرْ أَنَّىٰ يُؤْفَكُونَ
Translation by words
- مَّا
- Not
- ٱلْمَسِيحُ
- (is) the Messiah,
- ٱبْنُ
- son
- مَرْيَمَ
- (of) Maryam
- إِلَّا
- but
- رَسُولٌ
- a Messenger,
- قَدْ
- certainly
- خَلَتْ
- had passed
- مِن
- from
- قَبْلِهِ
- before him
- ٱلرُّسُلُ
- the Messengers.
- وَأُمُّهُۥ
- And his mother
- صِدِّيقَةٌ
- (was) truthful.
- كَانَا
- They both used to
- يَأْكُلَانِ
- eat
- ٱلطَّعَامَ
- [the] food.
- ٱنظُرْ
- See
- كَيْفَ
- how
- نُبَيِّنُ
- We make clear
- لَهُمُ
- to them
- ٱلْءَايَٰتِ
- the Signs,
- ثُمَّ
- then
- ٱنظُرْ
- see
- أَنَّىٰ
- how
- يُؤْفَكُونَ
- they are deluded.
The Messiah, son of Mary, was not but a messenger; (other) messengers have passed on before him. And his mother was a supporter of truth. They both used to eat food. Look how We make clear to them the signs; then look how they are deluded.
