Sura 5 Al-Ma'idah (The Table Spread), ayah 78
-
لُعِنَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا مِنْ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ عَلَىٰ لِسَانِ دَاوُودَ وَعِيسَى ابْنِ مَرْيَمَ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ بِمَا عَصَوْا وَكَانُوا يَعْتَدُونَ
Translation by words
- لُعِنَ
- Were cursed
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- those who
- كَفَرُوا۟
- disbelieved
- مِنۢ
- from
- بَنِىٓ
- (the) Children
- إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ
- (of) Israel
- عَلَىٰ
- by
- لِسَانِ
- (the) tongue
- دَاوُۥدَ
- (of) Dawood
- وَعِيسَى
- and Isa,
- ٱبْنِ
- son
- مَرْيَمَ
- (of) Maryam,
- ذَٰلِكَ
- that (was)
- بِمَا
- because
- عَصَوا۟
- they disobeyed
- وَّكَانُوا۟
- and they were
- يَعْتَدُونَ
- transgressing.
Cursed were those who disbelieved among the Children of Israel by the tongue of David and of Jesus, the son of Mary. That was because they disobeyed and (habitually) transgressed.
