Sura 7 Al-A'raf (The Heights), ayah 100
-
أَوَلَمْ يَهْدِ لِلَّذِينَ يَرِثُونَ الْأَرْضَ مِنْ بَعْدِ أَهْلِهَا أَنْ لَوْ نَشَاءُ أَصَبْنَاهُمْ بِذُنُوبِهِمْ ۚ وَنَطْبَعُ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِمْ فَهُمْ لَا يَسْمَعُونَ
Translation by words
- أَوَلَمْ
- Would it not
- يَهْدِ
- guide
- لِلَّذِينَ
- [for] those who
- يَرِثُونَ
- inherit
- ٱلْأَرْضَ
- the land
- مِنۢ
- from
- بَعْدِ
- after
- أَهْلِهَآ
- its people
- أَن
- that
- لَّوْ
- if
- نَشَآءُ
- We willed,
- أَصَبْنَٰهُم
- We (could) afflict them
- بِذُنُوبِهِمْ
- for their sins
- وَنَطْبَعُ
- and We put a seal
- عَلَىٰ
- over
- قُلُوبِهِمْ
- their hearts
- فَهُمْ
- so they
- لَا
- (do) not
- يَسْمَعُونَ
- hear?
Has it not become clear to those who inherited the earth after its (previous) people that if We willed, We could afflict them for their sins? But We seal over their hearts so they do not hear.
7:100
