Sura 7 Al-A'raf (The Heights), ayah 141
-
وَإِذْ أَنْجَيْنَاكُمْ مِنْ آلِ فِرْعَوْنَ يَسُومُونَكُمْ سُوءَ الْعَذَابِ ۖ يُقَتِّلُونَ أَبْنَاءَكُمْ وَيَسْتَحْيُونَ نِسَاءَكُمْ ۚ وَفِي ذَٰلِكُمْ بَلَاءٌ مِنْ رَبِّكُمْ عَظِيمٌ
Translation by words
- وَإِذْ
- And when
- أَنجَيْنَٰكُم
- We saved you
- مِّنْ
- from
- ءَالِ
- (the) people
- فِرْعَوْنَ
- (of) Firaun
- يَسُومُونَكُمْ
- who were afflicting you
- سُوٓءَ
- (with) worst
- ٱلْعَذَابِ
- (of) torment,
- يُقَتِّلُونَ
- they were killing
- أَبْنَآءَكُمْ
- your sons
- وَيَسْتَحْيُونَ
- and letting live
- نِسَآءَكُمْ
- your women.
- وَفِى
- And in
- ذَٰلِكُم
- that
- بَلَآءٌ
- (was) a trial
- مِّن
- from
- رَّبِّكُمْ
- your Lord
- عَظِيمٌ
- great.
And (recall, O Children of Israel), when We saved you from the people of Pharaoh, (who were) afflicting you with the worst torment - killing your sons and keeping your women alive. And in that was a great trial from your Lord.
7:141
