Sura 7 Al-A'raf (The Heights), ayah 53
-
هَلْ يَنْظُرُونَ إِلَّا تَأْوِيلَهُ ۚ يَوْمَ يَأْتِي تَأْوِيلُهُ يَقُولُ الَّذِينَ نَسُوهُ مِنْ قَبْلُ قَدْ جَاءَتْ رُسُلُ رَبِّنَا بِالْحَقِّ فَهَلْ لَنَا مِنْ شُفَعَاءَ فَيَشْفَعُوا لَنَا أَوْ نُرَدُّ فَنَعْمَلَ غَيْرَ الَّذِي كُنَّا نَعْمَلُ ۚ قَدْ خَسِرُوا أَنْفُسَهُمْ وَضَلَّ عَنْهُمْ مَا كَانُوا يَفْتَرُونَ
Translation by words
- هَلْ
- Do
- يَنظُرُونَ
- they wait
- إِلَّا
- except
- تَأْوِيلَهُۥ
- (for) its fulfillment
- يَوْمَ
- (The) Day
- يَأْتِى
- (will) come
- تَأْوِيلُهُۥ
- its fulfillment,
- يَقُولُ
- will say
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- those who
- نَسُوهُ
- had forgotten it
- مِن
- from
- قَبْلُ
- before,
- قَدْ
- "Verily
- جَآءَتْ
- had come
- رُسُلُ
- (the) Messengers
- رَبِّنَا
- (of) our Lord
- بِٱلْحَقِّ
- with the truth,
- فَهَل
- so are (there)
- لَّنَا
- for us
- مِن
- any
- شُفَعَآءَ
- intercessors
- فَيَشْفَعُوا۟
- so (that) they intercede
- لَنَآ
- for us
- أَوْ
- or
- نُرَدُّ
- we are sent back
- فَنَعْمَلَ
- so (that) we do (deeds)
- غَيْرَ
- other than
- ٱلَّذِى
- that which
- كُنَّا
- we used to
- نَعْمَلُ
- do."
- قَدْ
- Verily,
- خَسِرُوٓا۟
- they lost
- أَنفُسَهُمْ
- themselves,
- وَضَلَّ
- and strayed
- عَنْهُم
- from them
- مَّا
- what
- كَانُوا۟
- they used to
- يَفْتَرُونَ
- invent.
Do they await except its result? The Day its result comes those who had ignored it before will say, "The messengers of our Lord had come with the truth, so are there (now) any intercessors to intercede for us or could we be sent back to do other than we used to do?" They will have lost themselves, and lost from them is what they used to invent.
