Sura 9 At-Tawbah (The Repentance), ayah 58

  1. وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ يَلْمِزُكَ فِي الصَّدَقَاتِ فَإِنْ أُعْطُوا مِنْهَا رَضُوا وَإِنْ لَمْ يُعْطَوْا مِنْهَا إِذَا هُمْ يَسْخَطُونَ

    Translation by words

    وَمِنْهُم
    And among them
    مَّن
    (is he) who
    يَلْمِزُكَ
    criticizes you
    فِى
    concerning
    ٱلصَّدَقَٰتِ
    the charities.
    فَإِنْ
    Then if
    أُعْطُوا۟
    they are given
    مِنْهَا
    from it,
    رَضُوا۟
    they are pleased;
    وَإِن
    but if
    لَّمْ
    not
    يُعْطَوْا۟
    they are given
    مِنْهَآ
    from it,
    إِذَا
    then
    هُمْ
    they
    يَسْخَطُونَ
    (are) enraged.

    And among them are some who criticize you concerning the (distribution of) charities. If they are given from them, they approve; but if they are not given from them, at once they become angry.
