Sura 21 Al-Anbiya (The Prophets), ayah 17

  1. لَوْ أَرَدْنَا أَنْ نَتَّخِذَ لَهْوًا لَاتَّخَذْنَاهُ مِنْ لَدُنَّا إِنْ كُنَّا فَاعِلِينَ

    Translation by words

    لَوْ
    If
    أَرَدْنَآ
    We intended
    أَن
    that
    نَّتَّخِذَ
    We take
    لَهْوًا
    a pastime,
    لَّٱتَّخَذْنَٰهُ
    surely We (could have) taken it
    مِن
    from
    لَّدُنَّآ
    Us,
    إِن
    if
    كُنَّا
    We were
    فَٰعِلِينَ
    doers.

    Had We intended to take a diversion, We could have taken it from (what is) with Us - if (indeed) We were to do so.
