Sura 22 Al-Hajj (The Pilgrimage), ayah 46
-
أَفَلَمْ يَسِيرُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ فَتَكُونَ لَهُمْ قُلُوبٌ يَعْقِلُونَ بِهَا أَوْ آذَانٌ يَسْمَعُونَ بِهَا ۖ فَإِنَّهَا لَا تَعْمَى الْأَبْصَارُ وَلَٰكِنْ تَعْمَى الْقُلُوبُ الَّتِي فِي الصُّدُورِ
Translation by words
- أَفَلَمْ
- So have not
- يَسِيرُوا۟
- they traveled
- فِى
- in
- ٱلْأَرْضِ
- the land
- فَتَكُونَ
- and is
- لَهُمْ
- for them
- قُلُوبٌ
- hearts
- يَعْقِلُونَ
- (to) reason
- بِهَآ
- with it
- أَوْ
- or
- ءَاذَانٌ
- ears
- يَسْمَعُونَ
- (to) hear
- بِهَا
- with it?
- فَإِنَّهَا
- For indeed, [it]
- لَا
- not
- تَعْمَى
- (are) blinded
- ٱلْأَبْصَٰرُ
- the eyes
- وَلَٰكِن
- but
- تَعْمَى
- (are) blinded
- ٱلْقُلُوبُ
- the hearts
- ٱلَّتِى
- which
- فِى
- (are) in
- ٱلصُّدُورِ
- the breasts.
So have they not traveled through the earth and have hearts by which to reason and ears by which to hear? For indeed, it is not eyes that are blinded, but blinded are the hearts which are within the breasts.
