Sura 59 Al-Hashr (The Exile), ayah 16

  1. كَمَثَلِ الشَّيْطَانِ إِذْ قَالَ لِلْإِنْسَانِ اكْفُرْ فَلَمَّا كَفَرَ قَالَ إِنِّي بَرِيءٌ مِنْكَ إِنِّي أَخَافُ اللَّهَ رَبَّ الْعَالَمِينَ

    Translation by words

    كَمَثَلِ
    Like (the) example
    ٱلشَّيْطَٰنِ
    (of) the Shaitaan,
    إِذْ
    when
    قَالَ
    he says
    لِلْإِنسَٰنِ
    to man,
    ٱكْفُرْ
    "Disbelieve."
    فَلَمَّا
    But when
    كَفَرَ
    he disbelieves,
    قَالَ
    he says,
    إِنِّى
    "Indeed, I am
    بَرِىٓءٌ
    disassociated
    مِّنكَ
    from you.
    إِنِّىٓ
    Indeed, [I]
    أَخَافُ
    I fear
    ٱللَّهَ
    Allah,
    رَبَّ
    (the) Lord
    ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
    (of) the worlds."

    (The hypocrites are) like the example of Satan when he says to man, "Disbelieve." But when he disbelieves, he says, "Indeed, I am disassociated from you. Indeed, I fear Allah, Lord of the worlds."
