Sura 5 Al-Ma'idah (The Table Spread), ayah 51
-
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَا تَتَّخِذُوا الْيَهُودَ وَالنَّصَارَىٰ أَوْلِيَاءَ ۘ بَعْضُهُمْ أَوْلِيَاءُ بَعْضٍ ۚ وَمَنْ يَتَوَلَّهُمْ مِنْكُمْ فَإِنَّهُ مِنْهُمْ ۗ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يَهْدِي الْقَوْمَ الظَّالِمِينَ
Translation by words
- يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
- O you
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- who
- ءَامَنُوا۟
- believe!
- لَا
- (Do) not
- تَتَّخِذُوا۟
- take
- ٱلْيَهُودَ
- the Jews
- وَٱلنَّصَٰرَىٰٓ
- and the Christians
- أَوْلِيَآءَ
- (as) allies.
- بَعْضُهُمْ
- Some of them
- أَوْلِيَآءُ
- (are) allies
- بَعْضٍ
- (to) others.
- وَمَن
- And whoever
- يَتَوَلَّهُم
- takes them as allies
- مِّنكُمْ
- among you,
- فَإِنَّهُۥ
- then indeed, he
- مِنْهُمْ
- (is) of them.
- إِنَّ
- Indeed,
- ٱللَّهَ
- Allah
- لَا
- (does) not
- يَهْدِى
- guide
- ٱلْقَوْمَ
- the people,
- ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
- the wrongdoing.
O you who have believed, do not take the Jews and the Christians as allies. They are (in fact) allies of one another. And whoever is an ally to them among you - then indeed, he is (one) of them. Indeed, Allah guides not the wrongdoing people.
