Sura 5 Al-Ma'idah (The Table Spread), ayah 68

  1. قُلْ يَا أَهْلَ الْكِتَابِ لَسْتُمْ عَلَىٰ شَيْءٍ حَتَّىٰ تُقِيمُوا التَّوْرَاةَ وَالْإِنْجِيلَ وَمَا أُنْزِلَ إِلَيْكُمْ مِنْ رَبِّكُمْ ۗ وَلَيَزِيدَنَّ كَثِيرًا مِنْهُمْ مَا أُنْزِلَ إِلَيْكَ مِنْ رَبِّكَ طُغْيَانًا وَكُفْرًا ۖ فَلَا تَأْسَ عَلَى الْقَوْمِ الْكَافِرِينَ

    Translation by words

    قُلْ
    Say,
    يَٰٓأَهْلَ
    "O People
    ٱلْكِتَٰبِ
    (of) the Book!
    لَسْتُمْ
    You are not
    عَلَىٰ
    on
    شَىْءٍ
    anything
    حَتَّىٰ
    until
    تُقِيمُوا۟
    you stand firmly
    ٱلتَّوْرَىٰةَ
    (by) the Taurat
    وَٱلْإِنجِيلَ
    and the Injeel
    وَمَآ
    and what
    أُنزِلَ
    has been revealed
    إِلَيْكُم
    to you
    مِّن
    from
    رَّبِّكُمْ
    your Lord.
    وَلَيَزِيدَنَّ
    And surely increase
    كَثِيرًا
    many
    مِّنْهُم
    of them,
    مَّآ
    what
    أُنزِلَ
    has been revealed
    إِلَيْكَ
    to you
    مِن
    from
    رَّبِّكَ
    your Lord,
    طُغْيَٰنًا
    (in) rebellion
    وَكُفْرًا
    and disbelief.
    فَلَا
    So (do) not
    تَأْسَ
    grieve
    عَلَى
    over
    ٱلْقَوْمِ
    the people,
    ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ
    the disbelieving.

    Say, "O People of the Scripture, you are (standing) on nothing until you uphold (the law of) the Torah, the Gospel, and what has been revealed to you from your Lord." And that which has been revealed to you from your Lord will surely increase many of them in transgression and disbelief. So do not grieve over the disbelieving people.
