Sura 7 Al-A'raf (The Heights), ayah 157

  1. الَّذِينَ يَتَّبِعُونَ الرَّسُولَ النَّبِيَّ الْأُمِّيَّ الَّذِي يَجِدُونَهُ مَكْتُوبًا عِنْدَهُمْ فِي التَّوْرَاةِ وَالْإِنْجِيلِ يَأْمُرُهُمْ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَيَنْهَاهُمْ عَنِ الْمُنْكَرِ وَيُحِلُّ لَهُمُ الطَّيِّبَاتِ وَيُحَرِّمُ عَلَيْهِمُ الْخَبَائِثَ وَيَضَعُ عَنْهُمْ إِصْرَهُمْ وَالْأَغْلَالَ الَّتِي كَانَتْ عَلَيْهِمْ ۚ فَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا بِهِ وَعَزَّرُوهُ وَنَصَرُوهُ وَاتَّبَعُوا النُّورَ الَّذِي أُنْزِلَ مَعَهُ ۙ أُولَٰئِكَ هُمُ الْمُفْلِحُونَ

    Translation by words

    ٱلَّذِينَ
    Those who
    يَتَّبِعُونَ
    follow
    ٱلرَّسُولَ
    the Messenger,
    ٱلنَّبِىَّ
    the Prophet,
    ٱلْأُمِّىَّ
    the unlettered,
    ٱلَّذِى
    whom
    يَجِدُونَهُۥ
    they find him
    مَكْتُوبًا
    written
    عِندَهُمْ
    with them
    فِى
    in
    ٱلتَّوْرَىٰةِ
    the Taurat
    وَٱلْإِنجِيلِ
    and the Injeel.
    يَأْمُرُهُم
    He commands them
    بِٱلْمَعْرُوفِ
    to the right
    وَيَنْهَىٰهُمْ
    and forbids them
    عَنِ
    from
    ٱلْمُنكَرِ
    the wrong,
    وَيُحِلُّ
    and he makes lawful
    لَهُمُ
    for them
    ٱلطَّيِّبَٰتِ
    the pure things
    وَيُحَرِّمُ
    and makes unlawful
    عَلَيْهِمُ
    for them
    ٱلْخَبَٰٓئِثَ
    the impure things
    وَيَضَعُ
    and he relieves
    عَنْهُمْ
    from them
    إِصْرَهُمْ
    their burden
    وَٱلْأَغْلَٰلَ
    and the fetters
    ٱلَّتِى
    which
    كَانَتْ
    were
    عَلَيْهِمْ
    upon them.
    فَٱلَّذِينَ
    So those who
    ءَامَنُوا۟
    believe
    بِهِۦ
    in him
    وَعَزَّرُوهُ
    and honor him,
    وَنَصَرُوهُ
    and help him
    وَٱتَّبَعُوا۟
    and follow
    ٱلنُّورَ
    the light
    ٱلَّذِىٓ
    which
    أُنزِلَ
    has been sent down
    مَعَهُۥٓ
    with him -
    أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ
    Those (are)
    هُمُ
    [they]
    ٱلْمُفْلِحُونَ
    the successful ones."

    Those who follow the Messenger, the unlettered prophet, whom they find written in what they have of the Torah and the Gospel, who enjoins upon them what is right and forbids them what is wrong and makes lawful for them the good things and prohibits for them the evil and relieves them of their burden and the shackles which were upon them. So they who have believed in him, honored him, supported him and followed the light which was sent down with him - it is those who will be the successful.
