Sura 4 An-Nisa (The Women), ayah 142

  1. إِنَّ الْمُنَافِقِينَ يُخَادِعُونَ اللَّهَ وَهُوَ خَادِعُهُمْ وَإِذَا قَامُوا إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ قَامُوا كُسَالَىٰ يُرَاءُونَ النَّاسَ وَلَا يَذْكُرُونَ اللَّهَ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا

    Translation by words

    إِنَّ
    Indeed,
    ٱلْمُنَٰفِقِينَ
    the hypocrites
    يُخَٰدِعُونَ
    (seek to) deceive
    ٱللَّهَ
    Allah
    وَهُوَ
    and (it is) He
    خَٰدِعُهُمْ
    who deceives them.
    وَإِذَا
    And when
    قَامُوٓا۟
    they stand
    إِلَى
    for
    ٱلصَّلَوٰةِ
    the prayer,
    قَامُوا۟
    they stand
    كُسَالَىٰ
    lazily,
    يُرَآءُونَ
    showing off
    ٱلنَّاسَ
    (to) the people
    وَلَا
    and not
    يَذْكُرُونَ
    they remember
    ٱللَّهَ
    Allah
    إِلَّا
    except
    قَلِيلًا
    a little.

    Indeed, the hypocrites (think to) deceive Allah, but He is deceiving them. And when they stand for prayer, they stand lazily, showing (themselves to) the people and not remembering Allah except a little,
